About the Department


To excel in imparting knowledge and surgical skills to our students and provide the best possible surgical care to the patients who report to our department.


We take great care in preparing lectures and conducting case discussions and letting the students observe minor and major surgical procedures performed in our department.

We have visiting surgeons from other institutions who help us perform the best surgical procedures even in challenging cases

Department curricular aspects

  • Examination system Annual
  • AV aids prepared by students, in basic anatomy and local anaesthesia , sterilisation
  • Table clinic - Suturing practice on pillows , wiring exercise , osteology.
  • Evaluation of students done based on internal exams every 3 months in both Clinical and Practical.
  • To improve the academic and clinical performance, students are allocated to staff in ratio 3:1 for individual attention.

Teaching and learning process

  • BASIC : AV aids to impart basic knowledge of the anatomy of head and neck and Techniques of administration of L.A.
  • UG : Seminars or project works are presented by CRRI. Basic workup like suturing techniques and wiring on models.
  • PG : Seminars , journal clubs discussed with AV aids.
